Meet the Doctor

Colin J. Przybylowski, M.D.

Colin J. Przybylowski, M.D.

Dr. Przybylowski joined the Raleigh Neurosurgical Clinic in 2022. He specializes in neurosurgical oncology — the treatment of patients with benign and malignant tumors of the brain and spine.

He earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia and completed his residency in neurosurgery at the world-renowned Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ. During residency, he also completed an enfolded brain tumor fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.

Dr. Przybylowski has completed world-class training in surgical techniques to safely remove tumors in high-risk areas of the brain. This includes tumors of the skull base, such as meningiomas, and gliomas within eloquent brain regions. He utilizes the most innovative techniques for brain tumor resection, including awake brain mapping and fluorescence-guided surgery. He has recently established an awake brain mapping program at RNC and WakeMed, which allows him to identify and preserve motor, sensory, and language function during surgery. Dr. Przybylowski has published extensively on these techniques in the neurosurgical literature.

In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, surfing, watching college basketball, and traveling with his family.
