New Surgeons at Raleigh Neurosurgical Clinic
We have two new surgeons that have recently joined our team of trusted, board-certified surgeons. We are excited to have them on board to supplement our existing bank of neurology and surgical treatment knowledge. Each surgeon at our clinic offers their own perspective based on their extensive education, training and research. We raise the bar even higher by encouraging ongoing education on new test and procedures. We aim to provide progressive and minimally invasive treatment to our patients. Read on to learn about the merits of our new team members!
Dr. Lars B. Gardner, D.O.
The fellowship trained Dr. Gardner, who also goes by Dr. Lars, is eager to provide his specialized knowledge on complex spine deformities, such as scoliosis and deformities, and general neurosurgery. Dr. Gardner began working with us at the start of August. He earned his undergraduate degree at the Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, CA. Additionally, he has earned his doctorate at Midwestern University in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Gardner’s residency was completed at the Stroger Cook County Hospital in Chicago and his fellowship training was completed at the North Shore University in Evanston, IL.
Dr. Gardner has had hands-on training in both neurological surgery and advanced degenerative spinal disorders.
As a D.O., or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Gardner is a fully qualified physician with a “whole person” approach to care. In other words, doctors of Osteopathic Medicine treat patients as a whole, rather than simply treating symptoms. Dr. Gardner’s unique philosophy as a D.O. is a beneficial addition to our practice.
Dr. Glen A. Pollock, M.D.
Dr. Pollock began working with Raleigh Neurosurgical Clinic at the start of July. He is fellowship trained in Neurosurgery, including neurosurgical procedures and endovascular neurosurgery. Dr. Pollock earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida in Gainsville, FL and his doctorate degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, FL.
Dr. Pollock’s residencies were completed at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL and the University of South Florida in Tampa. His fellowship training was completed at the Cerebrovascular and Stroke Center of New Jersey.
We are very fortunate at Raleigh Neurosurgical Clinic to have a surgeon who specializes in strokes and other emergencies. The most rewarding part of Dr. Pollock’s career is in providing potentially life-saving care for people in emergency situations.
